Gustavo Meza-Cuadra

Senior Hydrogeologist

Gustavo Meza-Cuadra is a senior hydrogeologist with over 15 years of experience working with mining companies around the world (USA, Peru, Canada, Chile, Brazil, Mexico, Serbia). He specializes in developing hydrogeological conceptual and numerical models to support permitting, dewatering and depressurization, tailings design, and mine closure studies. Mr. Meza-Cuadra has experience across a wide range of climate conditions, various stages of the mine life cycle, and multiple commodities.

His expertise lies in constructing numerical groundwater models to quantify groundwater flow and contaminant transport. He has extensive experience with industry-standard, regulator-approved modeling codes, such as MODFLOW and FEFLOW, and a strong background in inverse modeling using PEST++ for model calibration and uncertainty analysis. He has applied nonlinear stochastic methodologies to assess uncertainty of model results (drawdown impacts and dewatering flow rates) at multiple mine sites.
